Takes learning beyond the classroom with technical visit to Elmina Green project

Students from SEGi University’s Bachelor of Science (Hons) Quantity Surveying programme recently went on a technical visit to the Elmina Green Project in Shah Alam, Malaysia, on 21 March 2023. The visit was led by two industry experts, Civil Engineer Muhammad Shafawi Mukhriz Md Shafie and Site Manager Pathuma Sri Rau. Thirteen students and their professor, Ts. Zamzarina Md Judyar was among those who took part in the visit as part of their EQS 3293 (Civil and Infrastructure Construction Works) course. 

The visit’s primary goal was to introduce students to a real road construction project, including its type, construction method, problems and solutions, and road construction drawings. Students were also taught about the Industrialised Building System (IBS) for residential building and retaining wall construction.
