Something big and real is happening at SEGi College

SEGi College Subang Jaya and realme Malaysia entered an exciting partnership in April 2021. This very promising and exhilarating partnership encompasses industry-led assignments, career and talent-acquisition, and exclusive cross-promotions between the stakeholders of both organisations.

One of the most prominent outcomes of this collaboration was SEGi’s Immersive Learning Experience, and realme happily came on board as part of this very inspirational SEGi learning initiative where students get to learn from the industry, first-hand from the experts.

Since April 2021, over 200 students from the SEGi Group of Colleges have participated in and gained invaluable insights from assignments and projects co-designed, co-supervised as well as co-evaluated by SEGi academicians and the industry experts such as those from realme.

Where other educational institutions thrive, SEGi excels in this very original concept of bringing industry into the classroom. In the old days, students had to search for internships, which are time-consuming, arduous and not as far-reaching as they should be. But now SEGi is helping the students by bringing the industry experts right into the classrooms. This saves time and energy, and students gain so much more.

Mr Calvin Chan, Principal of SEGi College Subang Jaya, said, “We are very pleased to work with realme because its brand DNA resonates with our SEGi rhythm – youth, reality, style, and that added edge of being extraordinary. The traditional model of education where there’s a formal hierarchy between lecturers and students is no longer attractive nor effective enough in today’s day and age.

“Young minds learn best through formal education in informal settings, and through our collaborations with these stellar brands such as realme, because they project their essence through inspirational real-life ideas and actual innovations. The realme Corner in our campus will be a strong catalyst to further strengthen student-staff-industry relationships.”

Going beyond academic collaboration, SEGi and realme now join hands in co-creating a brand-new student experience to welcome SEGians back to our campus by launching the realme Corner and the first-ever realme Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) Vending Machine. The realme Corner is situated in the student’s lounge and will serve as a hub for students and staff to relax, network and interact using realme’s range of AIoT devices.

Mr Huang Hao, Director of AIoT Division for realme Malaysia said, “Here at realme Malaysia, we have had an exciting as well as amazing year and it is a delight for us to be ending 2021 with the launch of realme’s first-ever AIoT Vending Machine right here at SEGi College, Subang Jaya.

“It is a great honour for realme Malaysia as this is the first initiative among other countries globally. We are firm believers of helping the youths of Malaysia grow in their education, therefore we hope that the vending machine will provide the students of SEGi College with the utmost convenience as well as empower the students to stimulate ideas and drive innovation by implementing it in their learning process. Vending machines are not only limited to just beverages and snacks but you can do more when you have the Dare to Leap mindset,”
