SEGi’s maestro in the spotlight

You may have read it before about SEGi College Subang Jaya’s senior music lecturer Yii Kah Hoe has made our nation proud by being the third Malaysian to be awarded the American Fulbright Scholar in Residence.

Here’s an update on his journey in America. At Washington State University, Yii is teaching weekly composition classes for 7 students, which are made up of 1 PhD, 4 Master, and 2 degree students.

At the same time, he also delivers workshops and presentations at the Full Convocation every two weeks to all faculty members and all students from the school of music.

Yii is in the US for his Fulbright stint for two semesters. He has exhibited his excellent teaching and research works at the university and will have his musical compositions featured in the States, including five upcoming concerts in Pullman under his name, as well as being named as a featured composer for a music festival at Pullman.

On top of his busy schedule in the States, Yii will continue to supervise and guide SEGi music students, especially the composition groups.

Here at SEGi, you learn from the very best, and we wish Yii all the best!
