On 10 June 2026, the Faculty of Business, Accountancy & Law, SEGi University, in collaboration with the Malaysian Mental Health Association (MMHA), organised an insightful talk on mental health and coping strategies for students at Auditorium A.
The session was delivered by Ms Kashmira Thiagarajan, Trainee Clinical Psychologist, who shared valuable insights on the importance of mental well-being and the need to break the stigma surrounding mental health. Students were guided on how to recognise signs that someone may be struggling emotionally, where to seek professional support, and the importance of reaching out to trusted individuals during challenging times.
The talk also introduced practical coping strategies that students can apply in their daily lives to better manage stress, emotional pressure and personal challenges. Ms Kashmira further emphasised the importance of self-compassion, encouraging students to be kinder to themselves and to understand that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
The programme reflected SEGi University’s ongoing commitment to holistic student development by raising awareness of mental health and fostering a supportive campus environment where students feel empowered to prioritise their well-being.
The event was organised by Dr Sudhashini Nair, a member of the Malaysian Mental Health Association, whose efforts helped bring this meaningful initiative to the SEGi student community.
Through initiatives such as this, SEGi University continues to champion mental health literacy, resilience and compassion among students, equipping them with knowledge and skills that extend beyond the classroom.
