SEGi and Kyoto University Forge Global Research Collaboration

In a significant step towards international collaboration, SEGi University recently hosted a delegation from Kyoto University, Japan, on January 15, 2024. Led by the Deputy Director from Kyoto University’s ASEAN Centre, the visit aimed at strengthening academic ties and advancing collaborative research.

SEGi’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Sharon Teh Geok Bee, and Prof. Dr. Gurnam Kaur Sidhu, Deputy Dean (Research) of FoELPM, welcomed the Japanese delegation. The discussions centered around a survey on Human Resource Development for Science and Technology Coordination in the ASEAN Region. Insights from key figures like Prof. Dr. Sharon and Prof. Dr. Gurnam showcased SEGi’s role in research competence and human capital development.

The visit included an enlightening campus tour, highlighting SEGi’s dedication to cutting-edge education, particularly in the FOBEIT Engineering and simulation labs. Dr. Ena Bhattacharyya, SEGi’s STI Coordinator, played a pivotal role, exemplifying SEGi’s commitment to fostering international research collaborations.
