Mental Health Awareness Campaign: Not All Wound Are Visible

In conjunction with 10th October which is observed as World Mental Health Day, the Peer Counselors Group under the Counseling Services of Student Affairs SEGi University had organized a Mental Health Awareness Campaign for 5 consecutive days on 7th -11th October 2019.

The campaign was held with the objective to raise both awareness regarding mental health issues, to mobilize effort in support of mental health, to reach out to those affected by mental illness to treatment services and to ensure that individuals, friends and families have access to the resources they need to discuss mental illness prevention.

Equipped with the concept ‘Not All Wound Are Visible’, the soft launching was held at Dictator Stage on the 8th October 2019 with a welcoming address from Prof. Azrin Ariffin, DVC of Student Affairs and pledge signing from the DVC and the external exhibitors.

The external exhibitors that participated in promoting their mental health services were KIN & KiDS Marriage, Family & Child Therapy Center, Pusat Kesihatan Mental Masyarakat MENTARI, D11 Child Investigation Center from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Growing Space KL Psychology Center and Life Line Association Malaysia. The peer counselor team had participated too by having a booth to promote their community listening project.

The campaign was a success which drew a huge participation during the soft launch and the telematch, as well as other students that had benefited from the educational booths as well.
