Special needs industrial engagement: Bridging opportunities for inclusive empowerment

In a powerful demonstration of the value of experiential learning and hands-on education, students from the Faculty of Education and Social Sciences at SEGi College Sarawak recently embarked on an enriching journey beyond the classroom walls.

These dedicated learners, from the profound subjects of “Inclusion in Early Childhood Education” and “Special Needs and Learning Disabilities”, came together to orchestrate an extraordinary day of happiness for the remarkable children of PERKATA, a school dedicated to special needs children. Our SEGians, along with the children’s families and the local community, curated an unforgettable experience for all in attendance. Further, the initiative was a testament to the power of industrial engagement, where the students leveraged their learning for a meaningful cause during a short semester.
