SEGi University Dentistry student Georgina George Pereira is the newly elected president of the Malaysian Dental Students’ Association (MDSA) for 2022/2023.
The MDSA Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on 24 July 2022 from 9 am to 5 pm at Auditorium A, SEGi University, Kota Damansara. The AGM aimed to renew the committee board with new leaders to lead MDSA for the betterment of the association.
A rehearsal was done a day before, in which the committees came to set up for the AGM, and a briefing was given to the candidates on the election and the committee.
During the AGM, the executive committee presented their report on the milestones and achievements during the 2021/2022 tenure. Students from 13 dental schools across Malaysia participated in the event. VIPs such as the Patron of MDSA and the Dean of Faculty of Dentistry, University Malaya Prof. Dr Zamri Radzi, and one of the past presidents of MDSA, Dr Chong Zhen Feng, were also present.
The election for the 2022/2023 Executive Committee started after lunch, and it was done through voting and election by the university representatives from all 13 dental universities.
