Tempoh dari sekitar 1760 hingga kira-kira 1820-1840 menandakan bermulanya Revolusi Perindustrian, di mana proses pembuatan menggunakan kuasa air dan wap. Era ini, sering dipanggil Revolusi Perindustrian Pertama, menyaksikan sumbangan penting daripada Michael Faraday untuk memahami elektromagnetisme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Berikutan Revolusi Perindustrian awal, antara 1870 dan 1914, kemajuan teknologi yang besar, termasuk pengenalan elektrik, gas dan minyak, merevolusikan industri. Terutama, teknologi elektrik yang unggul muncul, membolehkan pengeluaran yang lebih besar dan kecanggihan dalam jentera. Tempoh berikutnya dikenali sebagai Revolusi Perindustrian Kedua dan Ketiga, dengan yang terakhir dicirikan oleh penggunaan teknologi digital yang meluas, termasuk sistem elektronik, pengawal logik boleh atur cara (PLC), sistem IT dan robotik.
