Steven Yong has over 20 years of experience in higher education, digital innovation, and professional training. A seasoned educationist and technology strategist, he has consistently bridged academic excellence with industry relevance to deliver future-ready education for students.
Steven holds a Master’s in Software Engineering from the University of Malaya and a BSc (Hons) in Computer Studies (Software Engineering) from The Nottingham Trent University, UK. His career at SEGi has seen him serve in pivotal roles such as Director of Continuing Education and Upskilling (SPACE), Head of the APEL Centre, Head of the Faculty of Computing and Digital Technology, and Acting Head of Digital Transformation, Market Analysis and Engagement.
Alongside his leadership roles, Steven has taught undergraduate and postgraduate IT programmes, delivered corporate training for multinational companies, and spoken at conferences and media platforms on technology, artificial intelligence, and education. He also contributes to the wider education sector as Computer Advisor for Chong Hwa Independent High School, Kuala Lumpur, strengthening digital learning initiatives.
