PROFESSOR DR. KHAIRUL BAHAREIN MOHD NOOR is a highly accomplished academic and administrator with over 36 years of teaching experience. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (BBA) from Indiana State University, USA (1985), a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Morehead State University, USA (1986), and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Management & Quality Training from Liverpool John Moores University, United Kingdom (1999).
Currently, Professor Khairul Baharein serves as the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Ranking & Regulatory) at SEGi University. He has previously held various academic and administrative positions, including Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic & Research) at the University of Cyberjaya and Kolej Universiti Poly-Tech MARA, Kuala Lumpur. He has also held several managerial positions, such as Chief Executive Officer and Director.
Professor Khairul Baharein has made remarkable contributions to the field of Total Quality, particularly during his early years of working career at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He was a member of the university management team that assisted UTM in winning the Prime Minister Quality Award (PMQA) in 1999. He was appointed ISO Quality Trainer and Quality Panel Auditor for the UTM Annual Quality Award. As the Quality Panel Auditor, he was responsible for assessing the Total Quality System implementation at every faculty and department throughout the University for two years.
Apart from his contributions to Total Quality, Professor Khairul Baharein has also been actively involved in Entrepreneurship. As Professor and Director of the Entrepreneurship Department at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka or UTeM, he strategically designed entrepreneurship activities and programmes for the entire University. He has also published an edited book titled “Introduction to Entrepreneurship”.
Professor Khairul Baharein is an accomplished academic professional with extensive experience as a PhD External Examiner and External Evaluator for public and private universities in Malaysia. With a background in business and management, Professor Khairul Baharein has been appointed as an External Examiner for several doctoral theses, evaluating research work in diverse areas such as service recovery performance, quality work-life perception, organisational culture, and job performance.
In addition to the role as an External Examiner, Professor Khairul Baharein has also contributed significantly to the academic community through research publications and conference presentations. His research work has been published in esteemed journals such as Pertanika Journal of Social Science and Humanities and the International Journal of Management and Sustainability. He has presented papers at various international conferences, focusing on artificial intelligence, image branding, internal marketing, and sustainable development management.
Professor Khairul Baharein also has extensive experience as a consultant to various government bodies, including the Institute of Darul Ridzuan and the Department of Veterinary Services Malaysia. He has advised on human capital development, assessed training effectiveness, developed staff training roadmaps, and evaluated public perceptions of services.
