What encompasses Biomedical Sciences?
Biomedical science consists of a multitude of key areas that provide a thorough basis in pharmacology, physiology, anatomy, biochemistry, and neuroscience. Such key areas include many interesting topics such as the functionality of human anatomy, the chemical makeup in everyday living organisms, and the side effects of drugs. The course will also cover complex topics on the structure and function of the brain and spinal cord.

The Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Honours) offered at SEGi University is in line with the ambitions of the National Higher Education Strategic Plan, which is to deliver a wide succession of researchers and scientists in Malaysia. As aspiring practitioners in biomedical science, students will experience first-hand in many medical diagnostics and the latest advancements in anatomy, physiology, clinical biochemistry, human genetics, medical microbiology, cellular pathology, pharmacology, blood science, and many more. In your fourth year, you will work on an honours research assignment at a research institute that will test your theoretical understanding.

This programme intends to foster versatile and capable scientists who are able to thrive in the ever changing healthcare industry landscape.

You may also be hired in technical and scientific roles within organisations in the private sector or perhaps on research projects backed by the National Health and Medical Research Council.

  • Pass STPM/A-Level/Pre-University Programmes OR equivalent with min CGPA of 2.50 for the following subject:
    a. Biology / Physics
    b. Chemistry; AND
  • Obtained 5 credits or equivalent for SPM in which, 3 must be from the following subjects:
    · Biology
    · Physic
    · Mathematic
    · Chemistry
    · English; OR
  • Related Diploma (Level 4 KKM) from approved higher learning institution with min CGPA of 2.75; OR
  • Related Diploma (Level 4 KKM) from higher learning institution with CGPA below 2.75 and min 3 years of working experience in the same field; AND
  • For International Students, a min of IELTS Band 6.0/TOFEL (550) or equivalent
