DESCRIPTION

Studying International Business and Finance will provide students with a thorough understanding of the `nuts and bolts’ of essential business skills and knowledge, together with a critical and globalized approach to management theory and practice. Students will learn the theoretical framework for finance and engage with multiple disciplines including economics, business management, mathematics and politics.

Students will develop practical techniques for real-world problem-solving and have access to industry-standard software for organising, presenting and analysing business data.

The programme offers students the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills needed to be successful in the competitive global employment market, or progress to Master’s or PhD level study.

ENTRY
REQUIREMENTS
YEAR ONE ENTRY:
  • A pass in STPM/A-Levels, with a minimum Grade C (GP 2.00) in any 3 subjects, and a Grade B in Mathematics and Grade C in English at SPM level or any equivalent qualifications; OR
  • Pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with at least Grade B in 5 subjects including Mathematics
  • Matriculation/Foundation qualification with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00, or any equivalent qualification
YEAR TWO ENTRY:
  • Any equivalent qualifications to Diploma or Advanced Diploma (Level 4 or 5, MQF) with CGPA of at least 2.50
Note: The requirement for Mathematics and English at SPM level can be exempted if the relevant qualification (STPM & STAM) has Mathematics and English subjects and the student has obtained a grade, which is equivalent/ above the requirement at SPM level.
English requirement for Year 1 entry:
  • Evidence of English language skills at IELTS 6.0 (no subtest score less than 5.5)
  • Or its equivalents:
  • TOEFL iBT 80 (with scores for listening at least 17, reading at least 18, speaking at least 20, and writing at least 17), or
  • Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) 55 (with all component scores at least 51), or
  • Malaysian University English Test (MUET) Band 4, or
  • Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 1119 Grade C, or
  • SEGi English Placement Test (EPT) score of C1 or C2, with additional placement test carried out by SEGi to assess written English, to be at least at Upper Intermediate Level of the IEP, or
  • SEGi’s Intensive English Programme at Upper Intermediate Level
English requirement for Year 2 entry:
