Occupational safety and health is a crucial component in every business organisation. It is an area concerned with protecting the safety, health and welfare of people engaged in work or employment. This Diploma programme provides you with comprehensive coverage of healthcare management needs within the industry. We aim to groom you with the knowledge, personal skills and business leadership to contribute effectively to the management of health services and the planning and attainment of goals and objectives.

The program encompasses both medical and management fields. The programme is built over 4 major areas with a clinical placement during the last semester, allowing you to put your knowledge to practice in a community and hospital administrative setting as follows:

  • Applied Practicum (Clinical Placement) – Hospital and Community setting

Graduates from Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health are qualified to work as a Safety and Health Officer (SHO) at the Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH) Malaysia or as a SHO at business organizations to advise employers on safety and health measures in the company and to inspect, determine and advise on the safety of the work place.

Graduates from this programme can also hold positions in consultation firms that perform occupational safety and health monitoring or as a researcher in the area of inspections and permits for food, sanitation, air quality and water quality control.

SPM / STPM / O-Level with 3 credits minimum (including Science and English)
