Dentistry Students Bring Smiles to Children

In the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, SEGi University’s Faculty of Dentistry collaborated with HausofEvents to organise a corporate social responsibility project for 30 underprivileged children from Rumah Kasih Harmoni, an orphanage in Sungai Buloh by providing free dental check-ups to the children aged between 6 and 12 years old at SEGi’s Oral Health Centre.

The event started with a welcome address by Datuk Professor Dr. Fawzia binti Dato’ Abdullah, the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry and was followed by the opening speech by Datuk Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil, the Group President / Executive Director of SEGi University & Colleges.

The children were then entertained by a skit on the importance of oral health by the Year 5 Dentistry students, followed by a workshop on how to care for their teeth and also a dental check-up. For some of these children, it was their first time in a dental clinic. Green packets were also distributed, much to the delight of the students.

Thank you to the Faculty of Dentistry and HausofEvents for organising such a meaningful event. To know about HausofEvents, visit their website at www.hausofevents.com.
