Chemical engineering works principally in the chemical industry to convert basic raw materials into a variety of products, and deals with the design and operation of chemical plant and Equipment.

The principle knowledge in chemical engineering includes design, manufacture and operation of industrial chemicals and related, development of new chemicals or adapted substances and processes for products ranging from foods and beverages to cosmetics, cleaners and pharmaceutical ingredients, also development of new technologies such as fuel cells, hydrogen power and nanotechnology.

The working in fields derived from chemical engineering includes material science, polymer engineering, and biomedical engineering, membrane technology, water and wastewater treatment industry.

PEO 1: Graduates to be employed in relevant Engineering field.
PEO 2: Graduates to have sustainable career progression in relevant Engineering field.
PEO 3: Graduates to engage in lifelong learning via continuous personal development.

Students who have successfully completed the study will be awarded B.Eng certificate from SEGi and M.Eng certificate from UCLan.

Entry requirements

Pass in STPM with 2 principal passes including Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry
Pass in A-Level with 2 principal passes including Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry
Pass in Diploma in Chemical Engineering or other relevant field with minimum of CGPA 2.0 from higher education institute recognised by the Malaysian Government
Pass in Foundation Studies in Sciences or Engineering with CGPA 2.0 and Pass in Mathematics & Physics or Chemistry or Biology
Pass in UEC with 5 Bs (must include Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry or Biology)
Pass in South Australian Matriculation (SAM), (60% including Mathematics & Physics or Chemistry or Biology)
Pass in Canadian Pre-University Studies (CPU), 60% overall including Advanced Functions, Calculus & Vector and Physics or Chemistry or Biology
Pass in Matriculation, Ministry of Education Malaysia with minimum of CGPA 2.0
Pass in Northern Territory Certificate of Education (NTCE) with Grade C in 3 subjects including Mathematics & Physics or Chemistry or Biology
Pass in New South Wales Higher Certificate (with ATAR 70) and Grade C in 3 subjects including Mathematics & Physics or Chemistry or Biology
Pass in Western Australia Certificate of Education (WACE) and Grade C including Mathematics & Physics or Chemistry or Biology
Pass in South Australia Certificate of Education (SACE) and Grade C in 3 subjects including Mathematics & Physics or Chemistry or Biology
Pass in Ontario Secondary School Diploma, 60% over all in 3 subjects including Advanced Functions, Calculus & Vector and Physics or Chemistry or Biology
Pass in International Baccalaureate, with score 24/45 including 5/7 in Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry or Biology
Pass in Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY) at least 65% in Mathematics & Physics
Other equivalent qualification recognised by Malaysia Government

For international student:
TOEFL with minimum of score 500 or IELTS with minimum of score 5.0.
