    Profile

    Professor Fortune CBE is a distinguished clinician-scientist and academic leader whose work bridges oral health, medicine, and immunology. She is Professor of Medicine in Relation to Oral Health at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), and Director of both the Centre for Immunobiology and Regenerative Medicine and the London Behçet’s Centre of Excellence.

    A graduate in Dentistry, Medicine, and PhD holder from the University of London, Professor Fortune has held senior academic and clinical positions including Dean and Director of Dentistry at QMUL and Clinical Director for Dentistry, Head and Neck. Her research focuses on mucosal disease, oral cancer, and Behçet’s syndrome, with over £20 million in funded projects.

    Recognised with a CBE and the Colyer Gold Medal for services to Dentistry, she also champions widening access to higher education and healthcare, leading community and international initiatives to promote equity, capacity building, and sustainable health education worldwide.

    Profile

    Professor Dr Russell Franco D’Souza is a global leader in organisational psychological medicine, psychiatry, and bioethics education. He serves as Dean and Professor at the International Institute of Organisational Psychological Medicine, with campuses in Australia, the UK, and the USA.

    He is also Chair of the Asia Pacific Division of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics, University of Haifa, and Director of Education for the International Program of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics. His work focuses on advancing evidence-based teaching, medical ethics, and mental health leadership across international platforms.

    Formerly Director of Clinical Trials and the Bipolar Program at Melbourne University’s Northern Psychiatry Research Centre, Professor D’Souza has over 100 peer-reviewed publications and is Editor-in-Chief of Global Bioethics Enquiry and founding Managing Editor of the Asian Journal of Psychiatry. His global contributions to bioethics and mental health education have earned him numerous international honours.
