A picture speaks a thousand words. Combining mediums have dramatic effect; hence the interactive appeal of multimedia. Creative industries use multimedia for a variety of purposes ranging from fine arts, to entertainment, to commercial art, to journalism, to media and software services provided to a range of industries. An individual multimedia designer may cover the spectrum throughout their career and they require skills that range from technical, to analytical, to creative.
At SEGi, Multimedia Design is the broad-based knowledge for the application of digital technology in the many individual mediums that make up ‘multimedia’. We are committed to delivering a programme in which digital technology is utilised as a means to realise ideas and not as an end in itself. There is a balance between formal and technical skills and knowledge, and the production of innovative and creative content.
Graduates of the Diploma in Creative Multimedia programmes will possess skills in designing, programming, implementing, documenting, evaluating, maintaining and managing multimedia systems. This combination of skills and experience will assist graduates in taking advantage of the rapidly advancing information technology industry in fields such as Internet usage, electronic marketing and publishing, and futuristic sound and video production. Some examples of graduate job role include: Multimedia Designer, Webmaster, Interface Designer, Multimedia Producer, Games Designer, and Props Designer & Animator.
