SEGi and Utusan Malaysia Launches Innovative Education and Training Scheme

Utusan Malaysia , the country's leading Malay language newspaper is set to carry out its mission of creating value and lifelong learning amongst its readers. Readers of Utusan Malaysia have the opportunity to obtain a qualification or skill with the set up of the SEGi-Utusan “Tiada Alasan Lagi” (“No More Excuses”) scheme.

The said scheme, valued at RM500,000, was officially launched at the Utusan's headquarters recently. Signing on behalf of Utusan Malaysia was its editor, Encik Abdul Aziz Ishak, whilst SEGi was represented by its Chairman, Dato' Pahamin A. Rajab.

Qualified readers of Utusan Malaysia have the opportunity to pursue quality courses and programmes offered at SEGi colleges in disciplines such as engineering, IT, management, accounting, creative arts, law as well as vocational courses.

“The government has been taking numerous steps to instill lifelong learning in all of us,” said Dato' Pahamin, Chairman of SEGi. “We feel it is our social responsibility in this initiative by working with Utusan Malaysia under the “No More Excuses” scheme. With this, there should no reason why our youths should not possess either a qualification or skill.”

Readers of Utusan Malaysia may obtain the application form from the newspaper and Utusan and SEGi official website starting in the month of November. “We ensure there is no payment during the course of your studies. We will help you secure funding to finance your studies and training.” Dato' Pahamin explained.

SEGi boasts well-known brand names such as PRIME College , Systematic College , IBMS College , MSC International and Summit International amongst its host of colleges and training centres located in major towns and cities across the country, including Sarawak .

Earlier the two companies tied up to offer education and training opportunities to staffs of the Utusan Group to upgrade their qualification and skills through continuous development and training via the Valued Corporate Partnership (VCP) with SEGi.
