SEGi Received Malaysian Emerging Knowledge Organization (MEKO) Award

SEG International Bhd (SEGi) was awarded the Certificate of Recognition for winning the MEKO (Malaysian Emerging Knowledge Organisations) Award 2005 for managing knowledge and innovation and human capital development. The award was presented by YB Datuk Ong Tee Keat, Deputy Minister of Higher Education of Malaysia.

The MEKO award was organised by JT Frank Academy Sdn Bhd in support of the Malaysian K-based Economy Master Plan (2001 to 2100) and the 9 th Malaysia Plan (2006 to 2010). This award is to recognise Malaysian companies and organisations that practise knowledge management to enhance personal, team and organisational performance and competitive advantage.

“It is important for us to be motivated, to have self initiative and attitude in building a successful organisation,” said Puan Hajjah Roswati Bt. Rahmat, Director of Regulatory Affairs of SEGi, after accepting the certificate of recognition. “This acknowledgement by industry has put SEGi on the top of education organisations.”

The POKM conference is the platform set for companies and organisations to learn about the knowledge management successes from the organisations who have won the MEKO award.

Other than developing the knowledge management at their workplace, SEGi has also assisted many other organisations in employee training and development through their Valued Corporate Partnership (VCP) programme.

When asked, Roswati explained, “SEGi has collaborated with over 200 VCPs over the past 2 years. We are involved in the training and upgrading of employees of our VCPs, and we also look at developing job placements and exchange of enterprise knowledge amongst our VCPs,”

“For some VCPs, we also look at upgrading the academic qualification or skills of their family members,” added Roswati.

Organisations that collaborate with SEGi under the VCP programme are Avon , Golden Hope Plantations, KFC Holdings, Kumpulan Karangkraf, and so on.

SEGi Colleges provide certificate, diploma and degree qualifications to nearly 16,000 students throughout Malaysia .
