SEG International Bhd (SEGi) has received yet another recognition when it was honoured by the City Council of Petaling Jaya (MBPJ) for its picturesque campus in Kota Damansara.

SEGi received the “Merit Award” (Category for Institution) during the Photography Contest award ceremony, organised to commemorate the city’s first anniversary celebration. SEGi is the only institution of higher learning to be conferred the award.

The award was presented to SEGi Chairman Dato’ Pahamin A. Rajab by the Mayor of Petaling Jaya, Dato' Tuan Haji Mohamad Roslan Bin Sakiman. Also present was Y.B. Dato' Dr. Wong Sai Hou, state assemblyman for Kampung Tunku.

“We organised this event to illustrate the growth of our beloved Petaling Jaya especially since we became a city last year,” Dato’ Mohamad Roslan Sakiman said.

“We want Petaling Jaya not only to be developed but also lively, where old buildings are given fresh layer of paint and the city lit with colourful lights not only on the roads, but also at buildings and business premises,” he added. “SEGi’s huge and beautiful campus is the only newest addition in the city.”

The MBPJ Photography Contest is a collaboration between Fuji Film and MBPJ. Started in July, the theme of the contest is based on the colours of the city; photographs should reflect the essence of the city, including buildings, landscape, activities within the city, nightscape and community activities.

Other categories awarded the merit prize were Best Private Premise – UMW and Wisma IJN, Best Complex or Hotel – The Curve and IKEA and Best Government Premise – Filem Negara Malaysia.
