SEGi Receives Business of the Year 2004 Award

18 March 2005 , SEG International Bhd added another feather in its cap by receiving the Business of the Year 2004 Award (Category of Excellent Company).

Dato' Clement Hii, Chief Executive Officer of SEGi was present to receive the award from YB Dato' Chua Soi Lek, Minister of Health who was also the Guest-of-Honour at the award presentation ceremony.

The event was hosted by Asia Pacific Centre for SMEs. According to its CEO, Mr. William Soon, “the aim of the award was to discover and benchmark successful enterprises, which are able to set exemplary business models and inspire SMEs to pursue better performance and achievements.”

SEGi's business model, based on diversified education and training business segments, continues to give investors greater exposure to the sector's growth prospects, and potential earnings boost. Aside from ‘putting its eggs in many baskets', its focus on solid growth segments and innovative drive in tapping on those segments contribute to its solid performance.

“We are honoured to receive this recognition. A truly excellent company should strive to strike a balance between business and its social responsibilities,” SEGi's Dato' Hii commented.

The group has also lined up strategies for 2005, which involves attracting more full-time students with newly approved courses. SEGi is also confident that the prospects of three new full-fledged campuses, including one in USJ which is expected to be operational end 2005 will significantly improve its results.
