| The pursuit of excellence and success is never an easy road, and this is clearly evident in THE JOB – a 30-minute reality show that goes in search of the right man or woman for the job. Proudly brought to you by SEGi University College and exclusively aired on 8TV, THE JOB offers a 12-month contract with the title and job scope determined by the skills and talents of the winner. The winner of the show, will receive an executive position with an established company, an attractive salary, a postgraduate scholarship and RM15,000 in cash! Malaysian graduates under the age of 30 who hold a bachelor’s degree and are confident, determined, outgoing and passionate, were given the chance to try out for THE JOB. Working experience was not required, however the applicants needed to be fluent in written and spoken English. Hundreds flooded in for the auditions, however based on the background, personality and performance during their interview sessions only 8 candidates were finally chosen! These 8 candidates will undergo 7 challenges with big multinationals in the country, testing their creativity, branding knowledge, marketing, sales and organizational skills. With each task, the judges will determine how employable each candidate is. The tasks invariably reveal in unexpected ways the strengths and weaknesses of the participants, often bringing out the best and worst in each participant; unraveling who is the most capable, reliable, who is trustworthy, meticulous and who is not. “I applaud the 8 candidates for making it this far into The Job, but to fight for their dream job, they will need all their wits and determination that only the brightest and strongest can demonstrate,” said Ms Hew Moi Lan, SEGi Group Chief Executive Officer. Ms Hew added, “Through this show, SEGi will push these candidates to the limits, enabling them to discover themselves through hard work and strength of mind. By doing so, we will find the perfect candidate for THE JOB.” The 8 candidates who secured their spot on THE JOB include: Ho Shin Tze (SEGi Business Management graduate), Reshma Sangvi A/P Kumar (Communications graduate), Janice Yam Ee May (Applied Accounting graduate), Ismail Amsyar Mohd Said (Business graduate), Mohd Zarith Bin Md Hanipah (International Relations & Politics graduate), Jason Wee Kim Teong (Economics graduate), Tareeq Azmi (Mass Communications graduate) and Jasmine Chin Xian Mei (International Studies & Economics graduate). Hosted by Hansen Lee of NT7’s The Breakfast Show and DiGi’s The Next Level, together with 8TV Quickie’s Megan Tan, THE JOB will also feature a judging panel made up of three personalities each week – one representing SEGi University College, one in lieu of a neutral party and the other from the company of the featured task in that particular episode. THE JOB airs every Friday beginning 23rd March 2012 at 9.30pm, exclusively on 8TV. 8TV is also on Astro’s Channel 708.
