The ex-President of SEGi Student Council at SEGi University College, Tan Pek Tong, was awarded the Professor Leni Oglesby Prize for Achievement by Teesside University for being the highest performing graduating student in 2012.

This very prestigious award is given each year to Teesside University students of any discipline and country. Tan Pek Tong received this wonderful piece of news all the way from the UK through his Senior Lecturer cum Programme Coordinator, Mr Steven Ng, at SEGi University College.

Pek Tong also achieved First Class Honours in the Teesside Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance (BAAF) – giving him cause for a double celebration. The 250 British pounds which come as a gift with the Prize would probably come in handy for it. In fact, he was so happy and grateful that he wrote a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ letter to Professor Oglesby.

Currently, he is employed at Nestle as a commercial control executive. Pek Tong was very active in various student activities when he was studying at SEGi University College. Apart from being the President of SEGi Student Representative Council, he was also SEGi Prom Night leader and organizer, Teesside Student Liaison Committee member and class representative for all the 3 years of the BAAF programme.
