![]() ![]() ![]() | The Nigerian High Commission paid a visit to SEGi University College on 11 July 2012 to meet Nigerian students studying at the campus. The guests of honour were Mr Adebayo Idowu (Minister of Education and Student Welfare) and Mr Ibrahim (Deputy Defence Advisor). This visit was aimed at giving an in-depth introduction of SEGi University College to the High Commission and to provide an opportunity for Nigerian students at SEGi to meet and interact with their Minister. SEGi University College Vice President (International and Marketing Services) Ms Chong Weng Lian, Senior Manager (IQA) Mr Ghulam Irshad and Ms Pamela from the International Office greeted the VIPs and took them on a tour of the college premises. The Minister had a short meeting with Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs) Dato’ Professor Dr. Jamaluddin Mohaidin, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) Dr. Patrick Kee, Registrar Mr Norman Chu, and Head of School of Information Technology, Mr Wong Chee Kong before meeting the students. The SEGi Nigerian students gathered at the Inspire Lounge to have a dialogue session with the Minister after the national anthem of Nigeria. In his speech, the Minister complimented SEGi University College and expressed his gratitude on the effort made by the management, staff and students in preparing for his visit. Nigerian student representative, Lawal Shakiru, also expressed his gratitude for the effort put in by everyone involved, adding that the Nigerian students have received much more than what they expected from SEGi UC. The Minister and Advisor were also impressed by the success stories of Nigerian students at SEGi UC and asked them to keep their spirits high. The Nigerian students were then given the chance to ask them questions and voice their opinions. |
