Student’s completing this three-year Diploma in Environmental Health can qualify to become Assistant Environmental Health Officers and use their specialized skills and knowledge to develop, co-ordinate, monitor, assess, implement and enforce public health policies or laws.

“They work to ensure that people have a better quality of life and live within a healthier society, important aspects of their work include: food safety and nutrition, workplace health and safety, housing condition (environmental sanitation, sewerage systems and water supply systems), noise levels, adour emissions, industrial waste, animal health, contaminated land, air/water pollution control and communicable diseases including vector-borne disease control.

Diploma holders are also qualified to work for other sectors of environmental health.  They can find career opportunities in research facilities, educational institutions and healthcare management sectors”.
