The University of Sunderland is a dynamic, modern university with a growing reputation for teaching and research. The most recent Research Assessment Exercise, on behalf of the British Government,
shows that Sunderland is the best ‘new’ university overall in UK for research. It also has national excellence ratings from the Quality Assurance Agency for teaching in many programmes.

The Bachelor of Science (Hons) International Tourism and Hospitality Management degree is a full honours degree that is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge that are increasingly demanded by today’s employers.

As tourism is one of the fastest growing industries in the Asia Pacific region, there are many exciting opportunities in managing and developing tourism and hospitality businesses.

Students will study modules that cover heritage management, tourism field work, human resource management, strategic planning, research methodology, marketing for leisure, hospitality and many more.

During the programme, students will develop key skills in communications, relationship building, literacy, problem solving and the use of information technology to improve learning ability and work performance. These skills will not only help you to launch your career but also provide a framework for life-long learning.

Career Opportunities
Recent tourism graduates have gone on to positions within major tourism companies, economic development agencies, tourism development bodies and local authorities. There are also opportunities in regional and national government in Malaysia, UK and overseas. Plus, you’ll be equipped for many positions in the wider service sector and for moving on to postgraduate research.
