Construction Management refers to the study and practice of the managerial and technological
aspects of the construction industry. The BSc (Hons) Construction Management is a broad-based
industrial driven degree programme which equips students with the knowledge and skills required
to monitor and manage the technical process of construction, as well as manage the legal and
fi nancial aspects of the building industry. Students will develop a holistic view of the building
procurement process through practical problem-based learning, addressing real-world situations.
Graduates will be exposed to organising and managing various aspects of the building procurement
process, leading the project management team, implementing project controls, developing
communication practices, identifying possible problems and developing creative solutions for these
problems.

Career Opportunities
Career opportunities available to construction management graduates are vast and varied, and graduates can pursue employment with developers, civil engineering contractors, or become sub-contractors, Graduates of the BSc (Hons) Construction Management programme are well poised to transition directly into employment, pursuing job roles across a variety of different construction industry sectors. Possible job titles relevant to this qualifi cation are project executives, construction project supervisors, construction contract executives, construction project managers, or construction project directors.
