The foundation programme is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required for admission into the Medicine degree course with Airlangga University. The Foundation in Science at SEGi College is approved by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), and is recognised by Airlangga University (UNAIR).
SPM / ‘O’ Levels or equivalent
Minimum 5 credits (B3 or higher in 3 Science, 1 Math and 1English)
Airlangga University started as a branch of the University of Indonesia in 1948 with two faculties, namely, the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry. The University was named after the famous King Airlangga who ruled the eastern part of the Indonesian archipelagos from 1019 to 1042. Its aim is to be an independent, innovative and foremost university both regionally and globally. Airlangga University is a forerunner in science development, technology, humanities and arts based on moral and religion.
The Airlangga University Medicine programme is a 6 year full-time course that consists of pre-clinical and clinical studies. Students will undertake 5 years of pre-clinical research and knowledge studies followed by 1 year of clinical practice. The curriculum of the course is structured to support and encourage students’ development through the studies of basic concepts and the application of medicine, thereby building a solid foundation before commencing clinical studies. Graduates of the Medicine programme are well equipped to find employment or pursue further specialist studies.
