Student Service Centre

The Student Service Centre (SSC) operates as a ‘one-stop centre' to provide students with support and guidance throughout their studies here. There are four portfolios under SSC:

Accommodation:
To provide students with a ‘home' away from home that is clean, secure and comfortable.

International Office:
To assist international students with immigration matters pertaining to their studies here and to help them adapt to the local environment.

Student Activities :
To create a climate in which students may have a well-rounded education experience through clubs, societies and workshops, sports, recreational and outdoor activities.

Student Care Unit:
To provide advice and assistance to students in areas such as personal and career counselling, university and job placements, student needs and solving their problems.

Accomodation

Students are usually accommodated in the college-managed hostel or private hostels. In line with our concern for students' welfare, SSC provides assistance to international and outstation students in locating suitable accommodation. Our hostel is within 10 minutes walk from the campus. The objective of having the hostel is not just to provide a convenient and comfortable place to stay but as training ground for students to be independent, teamwork and self-discipline.

Private accommodation is available to those who prefer more privacy. A list of private accommodations can be obtained at the Student Service Centre. Students may also wish to consult the classifieds section in the local newspapers for more choices. There is no specific location for private accommodation. It depends on the individual student's preference and availability of the place to stay.

Rental is usually paid on a monthly basis. Accommodations are available on single or twin-sharing basis, fully furnished, partially furnished, and/ or staying with a family. Usually, the landlord may require 2 months deposit for rental and utilities which come up to about RM600-900.
